NYU Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law Fellowship Program

The NYU School of Law Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law engages in research, public education, advocacy, and litigation to advance its mission of shaping how people understand, diagnose, and address issues of race and inequality. 

The Center's fellowship application is now open.  Candidates should possess a JD, LLM, or equivalent legal training; distinguished analytical, research, and writing skills; a demonstrated interest in racial justice; and up to 5 years of professional experience. Class of 2018 graduates will be considered. Candidates with additional training, professional, or personal experiences that intersect with race and inequality are encouraged to apply.   1. (1)  Cover letter describing your interest in, and qualifications for, the Fellowship program, including an explanation of why you would like to become a Fellow of the Center;

  2. (2)  A detailed research proposal, no longer than 1000 words in length describing a scholarly research project or empirical study of your choosing focused on the intersection of race and inequality and the influence of those phenomena on the law;

  3. (3)  A resume;

  4. (4)  A law school transcript;

  5. (5)  List of three references with email addresses
