A MESSAGE FROM THE DOMINICAN BAR ASSOCIATION'S 2017 PRESIDENT
Dear DBA family and friends!
I am honored and privileged to serve as La Nueva Presidenta Del Colegio de Abogados Dominicanos!
This is a role I accept with great respect and pride and I am blessed to have a talented board to share this journey with.
As always, The Dominican Bar Association is committed to providing quality professional development programs and networking opportunities to our members as well as vital services to the Latino legal community and the community at large. More than ever, The DBA is acutely aware that this year is marked with a strong sense for action - a need to preserve our community, to ensure justice prevails, and to provide public service to those in need. As lawyers, particularly serving the Latino and other minority communities, we are uniquely prepared to carry out this mission at the DBA.
I welcome each of you to help support The DBA as we continue to make 2017 another impactful year. Join us and become a part of:
As President, I have set out to continue creating programs that will benefit our members from in-house to the public sector to private practice. I have established The DBA's first Women’s Committee and Young Lawyer’s committee to serve our members in more effective and meaningful ways. I am also focused on creating stronger connections between The DBA, its members, the Judiciary and the judicial process.
Please join today if you are not a member yet! Our fellow board member and Membership Committee Chair Renton Persaud is ready to process your application today! We also have many committees doing great work - please reach out to a Committee chair today.
Lastly, a reminder to us all - "home" is a resonant concept for us. Let us not forget that we are an integral part of the legal community, the New York Community, and the larger national community. My goal, today and always, is to strengthen our ties to one another. Thank you for joining me in fulfilling and extending this mission. I look forward to seeing you in 2017 and the years to come!
