Maria is a DBA Director and the Chair of the Women's Committee. This committee shall (A) provide Latina women with a community dedicated to mentoring, leadership development and special events focused on promoting and supporting women within the legal and (B) perform such other tasks as the Board may request.
Maria is a child of Dominican immigrants, Maria Felix was born and raised in New York City. After completing college in three years, she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Summa Cum Laude honors in Political Science from Brooklyn College in 1998.
In 2001, she received a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham Law School, where she was a member of the Environmental Law Journal, the Latin American Law Students Association, and the Sports Law Association. Since graduating from Law School, Maria has mostly practiced in the field of labor law, both as an associate at a law firm and in-house at several large corporations where she has had the opportunity to live in and work in various geographical regions. She is currently a labor relations attorney for Con Edison, where she manages a large arbitration docket and provides advice and counsel to key stakeholders in the company.
Maria has also been a professor at Devry University’s Keller Management School of Graduates and currently volunteers as a small claims court arbitrator in New York City. Her favorite job is being a full-time mom.
Maria was elected to the Board of Directors of The Dominican Bar Association in 2015.
