The Dominican Bar Association presents its USA Legal Immersion Tour 2026, an academic experience designed to provide participants with direct exposure to the United States legal system.

Taking place from October 13–15, 2026, in New York, this program is open to law students in their 3rd or 4th year, attorneys, and law professors in the Dominican Republic.

This tour offers participants the opportunity to:

Visit the United Nations
Participate in rotations through state and federal courts
Visit the New York State Supreme Court and the Capitol in Albany, New York
Engage in networking sessions with legal professionals

The program is designed to:

Understand the differences between the legal systems of the United States and the Dominican Republic
Observe judicial proceedings in real time within a common law system
Learn about corporate and in-house legal practice
Build connections with Dominican-American legal professionals

Registration is open through July 1, 2026. Space is limited.

Please note: Airfare, local transportation, meals, personal expenses, and lodging are not included. The program includes round-trip transportation to Albany, NY.

An Evening of Insight, Conversation & Connection

The Dominican Bar Association invites you to an engaging fireside chat featuring the Hon. Rolando T. Acosta (ret., N.Y. App. Div., 1st Dep't) and the Hon. Joseph A. Greenaway Jr. (ret., 3d Cir.). Both have transitioned away from the bench and into private practice.

Join us for a thoughtful and candid conversation with these distinguished members of the legal community as they reflect on their judicial careers, share insights from their professional journeys, and discuss their perspectives on the law and the practice of law beyond the bench.

The program will be followed by a reception, offering attendees an opportunity to connect with colleagues and members of the legal community.
