Bio
Jamell Isidor is Assistant Commissioner of the Administrative Policy & Enforcement Unit for the NYC Department of Buildings. She oversees the legal units that enforce the NYC Construction Codes and Zoning laws.
Jamell was born in Montecristi, Dominican Republic and immigrated to the United States with her mother in the late 1980’s.
She received her B.B.A. degree in Entrepreneurship Management from the Zicklin School of Business of Bernard Baruch College in 2011 and her Juris Doctor from City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law in 2015. In law school, she was a Senior Staff Editor of the CUNY Law Review, a CUNY Moot Court member, Academic Chair of the Black Law Students Association, and President of the Latin American Law Student Association. She is also on the board of ASPIRA.
Jamell is a past president of the Dominican Bar Association.
