Bio
Soto's practice has concentrated in civil litigation, criminal and administrative law, representing businesses and individuals in all types of cases; including corporate disputes, determination of heirs and partition of inheritance, claims liability and damages, breach of contract under the common law or Law 173, challenges to public tenders, maritime and environmental conflicts, bankruptcy of business groups, as well as in criminal prosecutions for the violation of patents, medical malpractice, and boundaries of construction.
Soto graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD). There, he also obtained a Master's Degree in Criminal Law. He possesses a Post-Graduate Degree in Civil Procedural Law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). His additional coursework and diplomas are in the specialized areas of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Litigation, and Constitutional Litigation from Miami University, Costa Rica University, Alberto Hurtado in Chile, and San Andrés in Argentina.
In addition to his professional practice, Soto is devoted to the university where he lectures. He has been a professor for several years in the Commercial Law and Civil Procedural Law departments at the Universidad Católica de Santo Domingo (UCSD). He is currently a professor in Tax Law for the Master's Degree program in Tax Planning and Tax Management at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
Soto is an active member of the College of Lawyers of the Dominican Republic, the International Bar Association, and the Comité Legal of the American Chamber of Commerce.
He speaks Spanish and English.
