OFFICIAL STATEMENT MAY BE DOWNLOADED HERE

The Dominican Bar Association condemns the hateful and offensive comments and distasteful rhetoric made by the Presidential candidate Donald Trump and or his representatives throughout his presidential campaign.

Such remarks are not only deeply hurtful but also entirely inappropriate in any setting, particularly in the political arena where unity, respect, and inclusivity should be prioritized.

There is no place in this world—much less in politics—for bigoted rhetoric or commentary that demeans and disrespects American citizens. The BIPOC community deserves the same respect and dignity as any other American community. This rhetoric perpetuates hatred, bias, and discrimination in a nation already grappling with division.

It is our hope that public figures, political leaders, and entertainers set a higher standard, one that promotes unity and civility rather than deepening divides. As leaders, the Dominican Bar Association is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equity for all. Today, always, and more than ever we stand in unity with all BIPOC groups, ethnicities, and identities and send healing to our Jewish, Haitian, and Puerto Rican brothers and sisters.
