The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York ADR Department is conducting a Mediation Advocacy Training on September 14, 2016 for attorneys interested in participating in the EDNY Mediation Advocacy Program [MAP]. The EDNY MAP matches pro se litigants with limited scope pro bono counsel for employment discrimination mediations. The September training offers attorneys interested in participating in MAP with a basic overview of employment law, tools for working with pro se parties, and mediation advocacy skills. Attorneys who participate in the Mediation Advocacy Training are eligible to provide pro bono representation to EDNY pro se litigants in matters of employment discrimination. The duration of an average MAP representation is six weeks from the first meeting with the pro se party to the completion of the mediation. For more information about MAP please feel free to call Robyn Weinstein, Esq., ADR Administrator, at (718) 613-2578 or email her at robyn_weinstein@nyed.uscourts.gov.
